Pumpkin Pie is our family’s favourite dessert and this recipe is one of the best for baking this delicious pie.
Ingredients:
- 2 Store bought or home-made frozen deep-dish pie shells
- 5 eggs
- 1/2 Cup brown sugar
- 1/2 Cup white sugar
- 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg
- 1/2 tsp. ground ginger
- 1/2 tsp. ground cloves
- 2 – 3/4 Cups pureed pumpkin
- 1 Cup 2% milk
- 1 Cup Whipping cream
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 350F and position rack on bottom shelf in oven. Remove store-bought frozen pie shells from freezer an place on a baking sheet. Thaw at room temperature while you are preparing filling. Or place home-made pie shells on a baking tray.
- In a large bowl, whisk eggs with brown and white sugar. When blended, whisk in cinnamon, salt, nutmeg, ginger, and cloves. Whisk in pumpkin, milk and cream until thoroughly blended.
- Pour into pie shells and bake on the bottom rack of a 350F preheated oven until filling is set, 55-60 min. Remove from oven to a rack and let cool for an hour.
