Pumpkin pie

Pumpkin Pie is our family’s favourite dessert and this recipe is one of the best for baking this delicious pie.


  • 2 Store bought or home-made frozen deep-dish pie shells
  • 5 eggs
  • 1/2 Cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 Cup white sugar
  • 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp. ground ginger
  • 1/2 tsp. ground cloves
  • 2 – 3/4 Cups pureed pumpkin
  • 1 Cup 2% milk
  • 1 Cup Whipping cream


  1. Preheat oven to 350F and position rack on bottom shelf in oven. Remove store-bought frozen pie shells from freezer an place on a baking sheet. Thaw at room temperature while you are preparing filling. Or place home-made pie shells on a baking tray.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk eggs with brown and white sugar. When blended, whisk in cinnamon, salt, nutmeg, ginger, and cloves. Whisk in pumpkin, milk and cream until thoroughly blended.
  3. Pour into pie shells and bake on the bottom rack of a 350F preheated oven until filling is set, 55-60 min. Remove from oven to a rack and let cool for an hour.
